Fellowship courses are in-depth, advanced level and are recommended for those persons with five years clerking experience. They examine a specific substantive area of law. Students write an exam at the conclusion of each course and must receive 60% or higher for successful completion. A certificate of recognition of this academic achievement is provided.
Pre-Covid19, the Fellowship courses were offered at ILCO’s Education Centre, located at 20 Adelaide Street East, Suite 503, Toronto. Live webcast for each course was offered at the discretion of the instructor.
As of March 2020, the Fellowship courses will be held ONLINE via ZOOM platform and Exams must be written online with ILCO's proctor. ILCO issues a grade report within 90 days of the exam date.
POLICIES:
ATTENDANCE: Attendance is mandatory. Classes will not be recorded. Students are expected to attend class on a regular basis.
REFUND: The course fee is non-refundable.
APPEAL: There is no appeal process for Fellowship grades.
RESCHEDULING: There is no option to reschedule the exam.
2024 FELLOWSHIP REAL ESTATE COURSE

“Commercial Real Estate Transactions” is a Fellowship course that will include the study of various commercial real estate topics, focusing on commercial leasing and the purchasing and selling of commercial properties. The course will also look in to the financing of commercial property, including how commercial real estate is evaluated and how the evaluation factors impact commercial mortgages. In addition, we will look in to other relevant issues that impact commercial real estate, such as planning, zoning, land use regulation and sustainability.
Course Instructor: Judith M. Wolf, J.D. practiced primarily in the area of real estate,acting for individuals buying and selling property as well as acting as counsel to financial institutions and private investors in all areas of mortgage work and mortgage remedy work. She is a professor at Seneca Polytechnic in the School of Legal, Public and Office Administration, teaching a variety of courses in the law clerk and paralegal programs, including all aspects of real estate law. She also teaches a course on real estate transactions in the Professional LLM Program at Osgoode Hall Law School. She is the author of Ontario Residential Real Estate for Practitioners, and A Practical Guide to Mortgage Remedies in Ontario, and a co-author of Residential Real Estate Transactions, and Legal Entities and Relationships. She has also written the chapter on real estate law in Introduction to Law in Canada.
ILCO is pleased to offer the 2024 Fellowship Real Estate Course via live Webinar sessions, starting April 25, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Fellowship Real Estate Course runs for 9 weeks on Thursdays until June 20, 2024.
